Tips for excellent posture

This week’s yoga class explored posture! I was inspired during my highland dance class when my teacher, Cathie, was emphasizing posture and led us through an awesome arm strengthening routine. I thought to myself, there are so many elements to good posture, let’s design a yoga class around it!

In my yoga class this week we explored these elements of posture:

  • Neutral spine and pelvis

  • Upper back strength

  • Core strength

  • Openness in chest

  • Mobility through diaphragm/ribs/chest

  • Side body lengthening

  • Skeletal alignment from head to toe
